Rainwater

GEH® redefines rainwater purification: efficient removal of heavy metals, so rainwater can be safely discharged and channelled.
Why it matters

Rainwater is a valuable resource

Rainwater running off metal roofs or through roof drains often carries heavy metals — copper and zinc ions — that are environmentally harmful and can’t simply be returned to the water cycle. The same applies to rainwater from parking lots and busy streets, which picks up lead and nickel from exhaust fumes and tyre abrasion. So how can rainwater be cleaned of heavy metals and other pollutants? We’ve found an environmentally friendly and economical solution.

GEH® works precisely and effectively thanks to its patented manufacturing process. It is dust-free and therefore easy to pour into filter containers — and it reaches you simply and cleanly, in big bags or plastic drums, according to your needs.

Versatile adsorber

Remove copper, zinc, nickel and lead from rainwater

Removing unwanted substances from rainwater takes a very specific filter material. A versatile adsorber has proven effective at removing many different pollutants and heavy metals at once: GEH® reliably and completely removes copper, zinc, nickel and lead from rainwater. So what explains its remarkable effectiveness?
How it works

Granulated iron hydroxide for rainwater purification

GEH® consists of iron hydroxide granules — an adsorbent that selectively removes heavy metals and pollutants. During adsorption, unwanted substances adhere to the surface of the granules and are easily and completely removed from the system. GEH® is simple to implement, needs no major maintenance, combines well with other processes such as precipitation, and copes with fluctuating inflow volumes — making it a sustainable and particularly economical way to treat rainwater.
Broad-spectrum removal

Compliance made simple

A clean water cycle, free of heavy metals

Complying with global regulations isn’t easy — GEH® makes it simple. The filter material meets all international requirements, including the European standard DIN EN 15029 and NSF Standard 61, so you can meet environmental regulations anywhere while hitting your own economic targets. Compared to other stormwater treatment methods, significantly less GEH® is needed. Want to design your system for gravity flow and do away with electrical power?
